The 113th Congress was sworn in recently, featuring a new crop of freshman eager to make an impact. Among the issues this Congress and the president will try to work together to address is health care – including the health of the nation’s children.

In a 2012 NPCH Report, we asked adults across the country to name the child health issues that they think should be the president’s top priorities. The public was loud and clear – regardless of their political party affiliation – that the president needs to address childhood obesity, bullying, drug abuse, and child abuse and neglect. Despite their differences in political beliefs, adults across the country were in agreement about these four children’s health issues. The new Congress has a lot of work ahead of them, but according to the results of this Poll, children’s health could be a good bipartisan place to start.
